Fri _ _ _ Fil _-I_

I guess I will continue the fastest growing fill-in game on the net.  A big thanks to my buddy Turf for keeping us the longest running 3 question  fill-in in blog history.

1> If I were "zapped" by a evil sorcerer into the opposite sex, the first thing I would do is .........

2> I love being a (man or woman) because .....

3> I love/hate the opposite sex because .....

Good luck to all as usual.

Heerrreee'ssss Robby!

I'm back.  don't all groan at once please.  It was a long move, and remodel.  Not really a remodel but some painting and shit like that.

I leave for a week or so (yes Goose, this is the "or so" portion) and when I get back online, everything has changed alittle.  I think I will try out the goodies later.

Things I learned while I was away.

* Moving sucks.  At least I am buying a  house this time, so I am almost forced to stay for a while...unless I miss some payments.

* I didn't miss my computer that much.  Why do I blog, is it for me or for you?

* Don Cheadle is a funiture delivery guy for Funiture Row in Waterloo Iowa, REALLY..well, if he's not, this dude looked exactly like him.... Maybe a twin?  Ron?  Ron Cheadle?

* I have a lot of stuff...A LOT.  Way more than my wife.  WAY MORE.  Lots of books and "geek  cred's" like comics and dungeons and dragons stuff, and toys.

Well, it's nice to be back.

Moving Sale

I will be off line for a week or so. I am moving on Thursday, and don't know when I will be getting internet hookup. Please feel free to browse the old posts in the archive if you are bored out of your mind.

My Friday Fill-In duties are being passed to my good buddy B, Turfs Eye View. I warned him, so he should be updating now, that damn eye still gives me the creeps.

To send everyone out, I thought I would include something that I found while cleaning/packing. .Tommy may be the only one really impressed, but most of you should find it amuseing.

Five Seasons Center
Cedar Rapids, IA

World Wrestling Federation (I am not really a fan anymore, but I did attend this bout)

The first two matches were nobodies, but the 3rd match was Ravishing Rick Rude vs. Scott Casey. The WWF Tag Team Match, one-fall, one-hour time limit (god forbid), was a great match. Bret "Hit Man" Hart and Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart vs the Rougeau Brothers. The Rougeau Brothers sucked. The next match was Danny Davis (??) vs Koko B. Ware, complete with parrot. And the Main Event: Whipping Match............. Ken Patera vs. King Harley Race, w/ Bobby "the Brain" heenan handcuffed to Superstar Billy Graham!!

I still remember this strange little dud who sat near us clutching his Hulkamania Doll all night. The doll was almost as big as he was, and he was easily in his 20's. For some reason I still have the program, musch to the dismay of my wife. I almost threw it away, until I wrote this and decided to hold on to it...at least until I move again.

I hope to return soon. Have a good week every one

Flash back to Fight Club this week on the fill-in:

2> Why did you choose that celeb.?

3> Who would win?

Good luck as always.

Fourth of July update...

A little news and views for ya...

Here are a few things I noticed at the parade in my hometown, The 'Ween.

> It was a very long parade...not necessarily due to entries, they just went very very slowly.

> There were at least 15 fire engines or fire department related entries. It is a realitvely small town (7000 people). I swear that every little shit town within 50 miles brought their fire equipment to the 'Ween for the parade. My only question is, what happens if there is a fire?

> A very unkept, almost homless looking guy riding his bike in the parade. It was sad. I couldn't figure out if he was lost, or just wanted to be a part of it all.

> Kid's were carrying ice cream buckets of candy home. It was better than halloween.

> Cops on bike just don't look that intimidating. Especailly when their guts were haning over their service belts. The bikes even had little sirens and flashing lights, as if someone was going to pull over if they saw them behind.

> The Shriners were driving their little go-kart cars around, which is always pretty cool. The best part about it this year was when one of their mufflers fell off their little car. This created a "white-trash" feel to thier show, as the "modification" increased his noise output to shitty moped like proportions. One of his fellow Shriners had to use the stick from one of his flags to pick up the muffler in fear of burning it to his palm.

Post-Parade:

> We skipped the fireworks and headed straight for the bar. (good choice, I know)

> They had a mechanical bull at one of the bars and a buddy of mine (Olander) wore some chaps, boots, and a cowboy hat as he attempted to ride. It took him longer to get his hand set than it did to ride.

> After-bar at D's house. It was packed and crazy as always. My wife said; "Time to go." I replied, " It's only 3:30, it's early." Yet, I realized I was getting to the point of no return in the alcohol department, and decided she was right. I barely rememeber half the night.

So, I have to say, all in all it was a kick'in fourth. You can't beat going back home and partying with your pals.

Hope everyone else had a great fourth also.
