The things I overhear in the hallway....

Imagine a crowded hallway if you will, 9-12.

"It is not possible."

"Yes it is, Mrs. Clark said so."

"Let's get this solved, let's ask Mr. B"

Greeeaaatt.

"What is or isn't possible?"

"Getting pregnant from anal sex"

I spent the first few seconds trying to formulate what I was going to say. It's better that they are properly informed I figure....

"Impossible. You can not get pregnant from anal sex. Wrong plumbing"

"Wrong plumbing??"

"Yes, you can not get to the uterus from the colon"

"Impossible??"

"Weeeelllllll...."
Once again pondering my choice of words...... "The only possible way of maybe...maybe getting pregnant would be leakage"

EEeeeeewwwwwww.........anal leakage.

The last thing heard. "See, I told you I knew my anatomy. It is only possible with leakage."

My only after thoughts were, "I hope they don't bring this up to Mrs. Clark."

What is scarier, the fact that I used a Grease inference or this story: Dirty Teeth Can Kill You, U.S. Study Shows

Attennnnntion!

Do not....I repeat...DO NOT lean back in your chair in my classroom. Fat Joe wouldn't even be allowed to lean back here.

If you choose to lean back in your chair I make you stand for the class period. I just made a kid stand up in my classroom for 20 minutes. It should have been the whole period but I knew I had made my point when he said, "How long? What? The rest of the period! This is stupid." I reminded him that was only because he didn't want to, he agreed. It's a pretty mild correction method, but it works. I usually give them a choice, knee's or stand. Knee's on the tile floor is a bitch. But these kids are lazy, standing is even a shitty alternative.

Is it getting warmer in here.....

From Discover Magazine last month.

"The White House also discounted warnings of global climate change induced by greenhouse gases, contending—contrary to near-unanimous findings by U.S. research agencies and international scientific bodies—that climate change was an unproven hypothesis."

Ahemmm.....Mr. Bush, maybe you should read this.

It's not all gloom and doom!

California has bucked the president a bit by passing a bill that will generate millions of dollars for stem cell research. It is something that is pretty significant for Califormia, especially due to the discoveries, and money that it will potentially generate for them in the future.

It is sort of like what Iowa wants for Biotechnology here in the corn belt.

Here is a link to an article covering Proposition 71.

Sorry Giese, I don't mean to dwell on stem cells, but this is new news.

Having trouble deciding on a party to stand behind?

Try this link: Politically Uncertain

It blows my mind that there are at least 3 "Pot" parties. They should all stand behind Nader and they might actually make some real noise.

Let me know which party was your "favorite" of the bunch.
